Dennis Publishing have more than doubled the uptake of their Workplace Giving scheme through flex bens following an innovative workplace promotion of the scheme.
Dennis introduced a Flexible benefits scheme in 2008 so that Workplace Giving and all other benefits are held centrally online and staff sign up for these annually when their benefits window is opened. However this had lead to a slight drop in numbers taking part so a re-launch of the scheme was arranged recently with staff being engaged directly about the tax effectiveness of the scheme and charities they could support at their desks.
It proved a huge success with over 23% of employees signing up which more than doubled the original uptake target!
The promotion created a real buzz around the offices, getting colleagues talking about different charities, some sharing who they give to and why and quite amazing things were learned about workmates.
As Alison Hunter, Human Resources Director at Dennis Publishing says; “Following a recent re-launch we managed to double our uptake so our staff are now giving an extra £6,000 per year to a whole host of nominated charities. The scheme has gone down such a treat with our staff.
The scheme is highly recommended to other employers wishing to participate and is an easy way of promoting the importance in ‘giving something back’ to the wider social community.
Dennis Publishing is delighted to be part of the Geared for Giving campaign.”
