Duncan Bannatyne invites more businesses to join the Campaign.

Wednesday, February 17th, 2010

Duncan Bannatyne is encouraging more businesses across the UK to join the Geared for Giving Campaign by writing to tell them about the success of his own scheme within the Bannatyne Group of businesses.

Duncan has written to Chief Executives of a host of leading businesses across the North East of England and Scotland. Duncan comments; “Charities have had a tough year and so it is imperative that any donations made to them are tax efficient to help stop the estimated £900 million they lose to the tax man every year.”

“When I was approached by the Campaign, I’d never heard of it, now I can’t imagine not doing it. Having now launched the scheme for my own team, I have received great feedback from my employees and I want to encourage more employers to follow my example.”

As the Campaign heads towards its objective of giving 1 million more employees access to a Workplace Giving scheme, there is no better time to join the many household names that have backed the Campaign since its launch.

Duncan gets his Employees Geared for Giving

Friday, August 15th, 2008

Dragon’s Den entrepreneur, Duncan Bannatyne has introduced Workplace Giving across his businesses.

More than 3,000 of his employees will have the chance to make donations direct from their pay to a charity of their choice in a tax-efficient manner. For example, a £6 donation will translate into £10 for higher-rate tax payers, who pass on 40% extra for their chosen cause.

Duncan said: “The question you should be asking is not, why would you do this, it’s why wouldn’t you?”

The Scottish multi-millionaire, who has built up a chain of health clubs called Bannatyne’s and also owns Bannatyne’s Casino, Bar and Hotels, is one of a number of celebrities who have joined our Campaign calling on business leaders to introduce, promote or relaunch Workplace Giving schemes with the aim of extending access to an extra one million employees.
