Wednesday, January 27th, 2010
Expedia, the UK’s largest online travel provider has signed up to the Campaign and re-launched its Workplace Giving scheme this month and already over 10% of staff have signed up to support their favourite charities.
The company’s Covent Garden offices house more than 450 employees representing leading brands such as Expedia.co.uk, hotels.com as well as the Expedia Affiliate Network, Expedia Media Solutions and others.
Expedia’s staff are an exceptionally generous group of people because not only are they are already surpassed the levels of giving to receive a Gold Government Quality Mark for 2010 but they have already pledged more than £8,500 for charity in the first week of the launch.
The average gift is also well over DOUBLE the national average. Mirka Virtanen, the benefits manager at Expedia, is delighted;
“‘The Workplace Giving scheme, recently re-launched at Expedia, has proved to be a success. Thanks to the ease of joining, tax free giving and the flexibility of the scheme, we had fantastic employee engagement to various charities. We are delighted to support the Geared for Giving campaign!”
